Universal Head has a long association with Jands, the Australian audio, lighting and staging specialists—we created their first company website, their production services website, and we’ve been involved since the launch of their flagship lighting console product, the Vista—creating an identity, a website and a highly successful brochure for the product.
A few years had passed, a new operating system for the product was imminent, and Jands returned to Universal Head to relaunch the product site. This time it was a wide format, WordPress-driven ‘blog’ site, and Universal Head met the challenge with a clean new design.
The inspiration for the design came from some very modernist-inspired, almost abstract images of the console. Eschewing the usual dark palette, Universal Head came up with a clean, white and grey site with sharp red accents. A bold front page banner reduces nicely to a smaller banner on the inner pages, and the navigation is simple and easy-to-use throughout, with room for the type to ‘breathe’.
