Universal Head has worked on video games in the past, but this was our first major work on a boardgame. Prophecy is a fantasy adventure boardgame for 2-5 players aged 10 and up by Czech game designer Vladimír Chvátil, in the style of old 80’s classic Talisman.
Z-Man Games of New York asked Universal Head to give the game a completely refreshed look while still retaining the original illustrations.
Our new look featured a rich parchment texture in various colours to link the many game elements and much improved font choices and layouts. With 24 pages of completely redesigned rules, 200-odd cards, 4 token designs, 10 character cards and stand-up figures, an updated board and a brand new box design, it was a challenging and imaginative project that gives this old favourite a new lease of life for adults and kids alike.
